Elaine Welteroth once said, “When the world tells you to shrink, expand.”
Welteroth definitely has been expanding, opening doors and serving as a role model for so many people of color in the fashion and journalism industries. She was named editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, making her the second person of African-American heritage in Condé Nast history to hold such a title.
Welteroth eventually resigned from Teen Vogue and went on to write her memoir, More Than Enough, published by Viking in June of 2019.
Welteroth has set a shining example for so many young women of color who have desires to go into the fashion industry. Through her book and through her life, she reminds us that we are more than enough.
Welteroth truly inspires me to be confident – in who I am as a person, in how I look and in what I want to accomplish in life.
